CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR
DIPLOMA IN PRIMARY TEACHER EDUCATION AND DIPLOMA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR
The Academic Registrar of Makerere University invites applications for admission to a Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE) for the 2024/2025 academic year. The two diploma programs are tenable under the Makerere University Institute for Teacher Education and Research (MITER).
Applicants for the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) must have obtained a Grade III Teachers’ Certificate or its equivalent from a recognized teacher training institution.
Applicants for the Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education must have obtained a Certificate in Early Childhood Education (CEC), or a Grade III Teachers’ Certificate (with Specialization in ECD), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized teacher training institution.
Program Duration: Two (2) Years
No. Sessions Per Year: Three (3) Sessions
Mode of Delivery: Full-time and Part-time (Weekends and Holidays)
Methods of Delivery: Open Distance and e-Learning (ODeL)

Before submitting your application, you are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of UGX 50,000/= to the Makerere University College of Education and External Studies Account in any Stanbic Bank, Account Title: MU COEES Projects, Account Number: 9030005866528, Makerere Branch.
You must upload evidence of payment of your application fee when submitting your application online.
The deadline for receiving application forms for both diploma programs is midnight on 30 April 2024.
